The Newest Murakami

Murakami
Just received the review copy of Haruki Murakami’s new novel After Dark, coming out May 8th. It’s a slim 191 pages, a middle length between his novellas (Hear the Wind Sing and Pinball 1973) and the heftier works (Wind Up Bird Chronicle and Dance, Dance, Dance). Can’t wait to give it a read.

  1. Brian Hadd says:

I will never forgive Haruki for not finishing Wind-Up. Six hundred pages and then stop! And still going strong, with not a moment of letup! Kafka was not as good, I think he’s going to write a sequel to Wind Up.

  2. Stanley says:

Wind-up did finish, though it takes many readings to understand its point. Realistically, where else could he go with teh characters. In the end, somethings are easier to understand, while other remain open & hard to grasp, as in real life.
There will be no sequel to Wind-up. What would be the point?
